It describes the events leading up to and during the Apollo 11 mission, the first manned landing on the Moon. It was first published in June 1970 by Little, Brown and Company.

Neil Alden Armstrong (August 5, 1930 - August 25, 2012) was an American astronaut and the first person to walk on the Moon, Michael Collins (born October 31, 1930), is an American former astronaut and test pilot, Buzz Aldrin (born Edwin Eugene Aldrin, Jr.; January 20, 1930) is an American engineer and former astronaut, and the second person to walk on the Moon.
